19/06/2014 - Tonight we
went to the barbeque place outside the Dongmen. For the Americans out there,
no, it’s not a real barbeque. They use some soap-taste spices that I hate and
the meat is so chewy, so I usually eat Mantou and potatoes. It was one of the
last night to spend together, so we stayed out till 4 o’clock in the morning
playing stupid games like Pictionary and Guess who?. Then we came back crossing
the football field by bike and singing The Queen’s songs. Will miss them all.
No, I’m joking, not all of them.

Chinese BBQ!
Final exams, so scaring. No, not at all.
18/06/2014 - This week
we had the final exams, and I didn’t study that much, as usual. I got 90/100 in
grammar, 96/100 in speaking, 98/100 in listening and 88/100 in calligraphy. The
thing that I hate most, though, is that there are people that cannot speak
Chinese AT ALL and they got high marks as well. Very serious. Anyway, who
cares. Not me, I’m coming back home. Just my Swiss friend Sebastian wants to
send an email to complain. But probably it’s just because he is Swiss.

Walking around the campus.
10/06/2014 - Today was a sunny day, and Jina (a German girl from Wangen, town that I know very well) and I decided to go for a walk up on the hills around the campus. A Dutch guy called Friso told me that there is a path behind the swimming pool. The guard told us not to go there, because there are no people, and I reply: “No people in China? It’s the best thing that could ever happen”.
Ah-ah. Anyway, we go up in a path very small and wet because of the rain, but then it turned to be a very nice walk in a larger street. On the hills there are a lot of graves, some ponds and I also saw a wild goose (or a female peacock, more probably). Then we reached the highest point of the walk, and we took pictures of the campus from the top. We went down in the town out of the DongMen, were we saw two chickens taking care of a small duck. We also visited the small town temple. It was a nice walk, two hours and a half. But one of my classmates told me that you cannot go up on the hills because it’s a military zone. I don’t think so, because there are houses on them. Anyway, this is China, so everything is possible.

Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of HUNGRY men? (Fight for you meal)
Let's talk about the food. How to survive in this campus?
CANTEEN
First of all, there are two canteens, a main one with three floors and a small one near the dorms. In the canteen you can only pay with your card, except on the third floor of the main canteen, where you can also pay in cash.
Main canteen, first floor: the biggest one on the first floor has normal food in metallic box (like the canteen in the hospital) with different prices, depending on what you wanna eat. Price range from 0,3 RMB (rice) to 3 RMB (meat and fish). You can also create your own noodle soup, and the price depends on what you want inside. Mi favorite one, anyway, is the woman that sells meat. She has slices of duck, she just put them in a soup, she drains them and let you choose what you want on top (garlic, spicy, soy sauce, vinegar). Yummy.
Main canteen, second floor: there is a part that is like the first floor (same food in metallic boxes) and a special muslim place, with the same food of the metallic box but cooked for muslims.
Main canteen, third floor: there are 15 small "restaurant" when you can mainly eat noodles, noodles soup and dumplings. There is also a kind of fast food, a juice shop and a place with the Xi'an-muslim cusine. prices from 8 RMB to an expensive 30 RMB dish.
Small canteen: like the first floor of the main one, but smaller.
EAST GATE
Outside the East Gate there are more or less ten small resturants, my favourite one is the Korean one, I also like one of the first with the hot-pot (but I don't like hot-pot, so we eat normal food there too). Prices from 10 RMB to 50 RMB for a dish (usually in China you order some dishes, you put them in the middle of the table and anyone eats what he wants). When we go out we spent less then 50 RMB per person.
In the evening there are also some barbeque places ( I do not like chinese barbeque, it's very cheap but I do not like one of the spices they use on top, it tastes like soap to me) and other chinese street food, and some greengrocers (they just sell fruit.
SUPERMARKETS
There are two supermarkets, one next to the main canteen, and one next to th small one. They mainly sell snacks (chinese snacks), buiscuits and things for breakfast. They also sell some fruits and some vegetables (the quality is really shit). In the supermarkets you can pay both by student card and in cash.
OTHER PLACES
Next to the main canteen ther is a 咖啡厅, a coffee shop that makes drinks like smoothies and some food. There is also a new opened mexican place (nothing special at all) and a strange shop where you can make your own coconut milk drinks (you can put inside beans, peanuts, coconut jelly...). There are also other coffee shops in teaching buildings.
And that's all folks. Just remember, everything here is new and they keep on opening new places.
