Valle d'Aosta, Day 1. The price that has to be paid.

17/08/2014 – Leaving early today, as my father is always kinda stressed when we have to leave. We woke up at seven (I thought he was kidding me) and we left with our camping van. Destination: Cervinia, Valle d’Aosta, a region in the north-west of Italy. The journey was not that long, but I was able to slept a bit. Once there, we found out that there is no more electricity supply in the area for campers, so we can stay here just for two days. As soon as we got off the camper my dad and I went for a walk to see a small lake called Lago Bleu.
It’s a mix of Italian (lago means lake) and French (bleu means blue) as we are in Valle d’Aosta, next to the French border, so they developed a dialect which actually is a mix of French and Italian. This lake is absolutely amazing. It’s very small, but it’s a spring and its water is really blue. It’s incredible. We ate a little and, after my usual nap we went in the city centre (like ten minutes walk from the area for campers). Cervinia is nice, with a Mike Bongiorno’s statue in front of the church. Mike was a tv host that used to come here on holiday.
There is a central pedestrian street with nice shops. On the right side of the street there is a small street that go to the river. If you follow it for a bit, you can find the same iron cross that is on the top on the mount Cervino (so you can take a picture with it without climbing the mount, ah ah). At the end of the street there is a path that leads to a chapel dedicated to the ones who died on the mountains. The view is beautiful, as you can see both the mount Cervino and the town. Then we came back, and we play cards. As usual, you cannot go on holiday with my parents without playing cards with my mum. It’s the price that has to be paid.

Is it summer?

30/07/2014 - Today we decided to run away from this house. We went to Igea Marina to have dinner with my uncle. We ate some very nice grilled fish in  restaurant called Sirocco. After dinner we had a very yummy ice-cream in a ice-cream parlor near there (I think it was called Juice). It was very cold, and there weren't a lot of people around. Is it summer?

This is not an holiday.

29/07/2014 - Today we had to bring my grandma to the hospital in Novafeltria for a visit and we spent there about an hour of our time. Happiness. Novafeltria is a small town down the hills...ah, I didn't tell you? My grandma lives in a place forgotten by God, where cell phones don't work and you cannot watch tv. Then I went to buy some flowers for my grandpa, and I chose 5 big sunflowers. They are so beautiful and make me happy (and also quite cheap). After that, we went to the cemitery, but my grandma forgot the scissors. It's getting better, isn't it? Just to let you know, you cannot cut sunflowers with your hands. My grandma and her sister wanted to go and see the landslide that affected San Leo last march. My poor boyfriend is working all day long. This is not an holiday.
