Rubber Duck, we've found you!

16/05/2014 - Today I went to the East Gate to collect my dehumidifier and I met Eunbin, a Korean girl, and Veronika, a Swedish girl. They told me they were about to go and see that giant rubber duck, and if I wanted to join them. Of course, yes! Getting there is quite difficult, we had to change for the BRT line first, then taking another bus for an hour (2 hours and something in total). The positive thing is that, when we got off the BRT, Eunbin realized that there was a restaurant of a her father's friend, so we could have gone there for dinner.
The Duck, a giant sculpture by Florentijn Hofman which is travelling around the world with the project "Spreading Joy Around the World", is now in Haicang, Xiamen. This is a very new district, a nice place where to live. The Duck was next to a kind of shopping mall, where there were two giant cages, one with a peacock and one with some pigeons, and some other smaller cages with different birds. There we also found a sort of library/bookshop, a really beautiful and relaxing place.
Coming back, we stopped at California Mall, because next to the building there is this restaurant street where the Korean restaurant was. The food was something special, and we could also eat some sushi, beause the owner studied the Japanese Cusine. They were so nice with Eunbin! She paid for us too (actually, she left the bill to be paid by her father!), very kind of her! Then, Walmart tour (where we discovered a new kind of Oreo biscuits) and coming back home. Such a nice day, and all for chance!
